You are what you eat. We all know the old saying. And, while eating an orange won’t make you into one, each day science proves that what we eat has a direct impact on how we look and feel. Stress, anxiety, skin problems, low energy and hundreds of other issues can all be dramatically improved simply by changing what you eat. But where do you start? How do you know what foods are right for you? And where are you going to find the time to do all that shopping and prep?

Before you get overwhelmed and run away screaming, there’s someone I want you to meet: Samantha Gladish, a Registered Holistic Nutritionist and whole food fanatic who makes healthy whole food eating fast, easy and delicious.

The biggest hurdle most people face, Samantha finds, is motivation. We tend to have an “all or nothing” kind of mentality when it comes to meals and we’re afraid to make mistakes.

She works hard to understand where people really are with their lives, listen to their needs so she can create a customized eating plan, based on their goals. Then she helps clients ease into the transition slowly, in ways that fit their needs and that makes sense to them.

Don’t be surprised if your first consultation begins with a few minutes of simple breathing. “It sounds crazy,” she says, “but people are always amazed at how much better they feel. More relaxed, more aware, more focused by just breathing fully for just a few minutes.

In addition to one on one consultations, Samantha creates workshops for large and small groups - ranging from neighbours who share the same health goals to companies looking to help their employees live healthier, happier more productive lives.

This is YOUR LIFE. Do what you love, and do it often. If you don’t like something, change it. If you don’t like your job, quit. If you don’t have enough time, stop watching TV. If you are looking for the love of your life stop; they will be waiting for you when you start doing things you love. Stop over analyzing. All emotions are beautiful. When you eat, appreciate every last bite. Life is Simple. Open you mind, arms and heart to new things and people, we are united in our differences. Ask the next person you see what their passion is, and share your inspiring dream with them. Travel often; getting lost will help you find yourself. Some opportunities only come once, seize them. Life is about the people you meet, and the things you create with them so go out and start creating. Life is short. Live your dream and wear your passion.

She also runs whole food cooking classes so you can explore new flavours, new recipes and new strategies that will help you learn how to eat in a way that nourishes your body, instead of just eating to fill the void. If you’re lucky, she might even share the recipe for her Hot Apple Cinnamon Smoothie –a warm, figure friendly whole food concoction that tastes every bit as good as it is good for you.

So, with all this talk about healthy eating, I had to ask: Does the whole food passionista have a secret vice? “Of course,” she laughs, confessing that Starbuck’s pumpkin spice lattés are her kryptonite.

Why Billy Loves Samantha

When I first listened to Samantha speak she was sitting in my colleague's chair, I was really impressed with her attitude towards what she does. So I thought I would quiz her and get a better understanding about her real deal. Bang on knowledge base for this field and great delivery. Mr. Chef has her as his first guest on the new cooking show here at BHOC. I, being a know it all, learned so much and I am sure you will as well.
